WORK

LASC helps people with their legal problems in a variety of ways, such as legal information, advice, or representation. LASC’s Work Team gives advice and representation to clients with issues like:

  • Unemployment compensation
  • Wage garnishment
  • Wage theft
  • CQE Applications
  • Criminal record sealing
  • Permission to drive to and from work after a driver’s license suspension

People can often handle common legal problems on their own with legal information. Visit the Resource Center for self-help flyers, links to helpful resources, and do-it-yourself packets regarding the wage garnishment process, eligibility for criminal record sealing, and information on how to apply for unemployment benefits.

LASC may be able to represent you if:

  • Your application for unemployment benefits was incorrectly denied
  • Your employer refuses to pay your minimum wage or overtime
  • You need help sealing a criminal record so you can get a job
  • You need help obtaining a Certificate of Qualification of Employment
