LASC helps people with their legal problems in a variety of ways, such as legal information, advice, or representation. LASC’s Seniors Team gives advice and representation to clients with issues like:

  • Simple Wills
  • Power of Attorney
  • Advance Directives
  • Nursing Home Issues
  • Medicaid/Medicare Issues
  • Grandparent Custody or Power of Attorney
  • Consumer Protections
  • Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation
  • Housing Issues
  • Income Issues

We make home visits for disabled and homebound senior citizens.

People can often handle common legal problems on their own with legal information. Visit the Resource Center for self-help flyers, links to helpful resources, and do-it-yourself packets regarding Simple Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advance Directives, and Grandparent visitation rights.


 LASC may be able to represent you if:

  

  • You are threatened with removal from a nursing home or long-term care facility
  • You are denied medical care because Medicare/Medicaid or an insurance provider refuses coverage 
  • You have been threatened or sued for a medical debt
  • Your grandchildren were placed in your care by Children’s Protective Services and you need legal custody to obtain services, income or housing
  • You have been the target of financial exploitation
  • You need a reasonable accommodation or modification to stay in your home
  • You were denied or terminated from public benefits such as food assistance, disability assistance, or Social Security income
  • You are the victim of abuse or neglect
