LASC Introduces Access To Justice, our new online intake system
Our new online application is an interactive interview that will walk you step by step through our intake process. This easy to follow question and answer session will help us better understand your problem so we can give you a more accurate response to your needs. It also saves our intake workers time and helps us to help more people. We hope you will find our system easy to use.
The program, "Facing the Mortgage Crisis", features a town hall setting where specific information is provided for dealing with a foreclosure problem and addressing a mortgage default. The moderator for the program is Mike Thompson, WOSU News and Public Affairs Director, and the panelists include our own Les Varnado, Senior Attorney at the Legal Aid Society; Steve Torsell, Executive Director, Homes on the Hill and; Cindy Windsor, Senior Mortgage Advisor, Key Bank. The program was taped on June 25, 2009, at WOSU/COSI and had its first airing on WOSU on July 9, 2009, at 9:00. Click here to watch the program in its entirety.

You must meet income and resource limits to be eligible for our services but our experienced intake staff will help you determine eligibility and find the right attorney to help you resolve your problem.
The Legal Aid Society of Columbus does not charge for its services but you may be required to pay certain court costs. If we must refer you to a private attorney, there may be a reduced fee. If The Legal Aid Society of Columbus cannot help you with your problem, we will refer you to an agency that may be more suited to your needs. If you have a problem that is not listed on our services page, please call us anyway; we may have a service that can help you or know of just the right program or private attorney that will.
