The Legal Aid Society of Columbus provides legal assistance in civil cases to low income individuals who cannot afford to hire an attorney. We do not do criminal cases.

You must meet income and resource limits to be eligible for our services but our experienced intake staff will help you determine eligibility and find the right attorney to help you resolve your problem.

LASC does not charge for it's services but you may be required to pay certain court costs. If we must refer you to a private attorney, there may be a reduced fee. If LASC cannot help you with your problem, we will refer you to an agency that may be more suited to your needs. If you have a problem that is not listed on our services page, please call us anyway; we may have a service that can help you or know of just the right program or private attorney that will.

Tax Stimulus Rebate

If your income from your work is too low to require you to file a federal tax return or if your income is from Social Security or Railroad Retirement or Veterans Benefits, you may still qualify to receive a stimulus rebate of up to $600.00 from the United States Treasury.  To learn if you qualify for this payment and how to receive it, read on.”

The Legal Aid Society of Columbus is conducting monthly workshops
